Bloom was engaged to conduct a fire safety due diligence assessment for a major tyre distribution company, focusing on their warehouse and repair centre facilities across Australia and Tasmania. Our role was to evaluate compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC), relevant state fire safety regulations, and the Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) guidelines, which are particularly important for large-volume tyre storage. Working closely with the client’s HSEQ team, we reviewed fire load risk, site access and egress, fire services coverage and compliance, storage arrangements, and the potential impacts on local fire brigades.
Many sites presented spatial challenges due to tight storage layouts and existing infrastructure, requiring careful navigation of compliance pathways without disrupting operations. To support planning and communication, we prepared detailed site maps highlighting tyre stacks, separation distances, and key fire risk zones. This enabled the HSEQ team to visualise site-specific vulnerabilities and provided a foundation for future safety upgrades and improved regulatory engagement.
